Privacy Policy

Only Known Callers

In short: Only Known Callers is built to protect your privacy. Your contacts never leave your phone. We show no ads, run no third-party analytics or tracking, sell no data, and never request your call log or messages. The only personal data processed off your device is what is strictly needed to run your subscription, handled by our payment providers.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Only Known Callers ("the App") is provided by Mega Labs. The data controller is:

2. Data accessed on your device (never sent to us)

• Your contacts (READ_CONTACTS) — used only, on your device, to check whether an incoming caller is one of your saved contacts so the App knows whether to let the call through. Your contacts are never uploaded, transmitted, copied off the device, or stored by us.
• Incoming caller number (call-screening role) — used only, on your device, to decide whether to allow or block each incoming call. We do not use the call-log permission group and do not record your calls.
• Your settings (chosen mode, allow/block lists) — stored locally on your device; included only in your own Android device backup if you have that enabled.

3. Data processed to provide subscriptions

To offer the free trial and subscriptions we use RevenueCat, Inc. (subscription management) and Google Play Billing (payment). Your payment details are handled by Google — we never see your card information.

To manage your subscription status, RevenueCat processes on our behalf a randomly generated anonymous app user ID, your in-app purchase and subscription history, and limited device/app information (e.g. device identifiers, app version, country).

• Purpose: providing and maintaining your subscription and free trial.
• Legal basis (GDPR): performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)).
• Processors: see RevenueCat's privacy policy (revenuecat.com/privacy) and Google Play's privacy policy.

We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, call history, or message content.

4. What we do not do

• No advertising and no advertising SDKs.
• No third-party analytics, tracking, or profiling SDKs.
• No selling or sharing of personal data.
• No user accounts or logins.

5. Permissions, explained

• Contacts — to recognise people you know (see §2).
• Call screening role — to block or allow incoming calls.
• Notifications (optional) — to show a local "call blocked" alert if you enable it.

6. Data retention

Your contacts and settings stay on your device under your control; uninstalling the App removes them. Subscription records are retained by RevenueCat and Google for as long as needed to provide and account for the service and to meet legal obligations.

7. International transfers

Our subscription processors may process data outside the EU/EEA (e.g. in the United States). Where they do, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, as described in their respective privacy policies.

8. Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA (GDPR) you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Because your contacts and settings are stored only on your device, you control that data directly. For data held by our providers, contact us at info@megalabs.it and we will assist.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).

9. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the App or the store listing.
